Welcome to the Dartford Cambria Sea Scout Group. There are lots of Dartford Scout groups but we are the only Sea Scouts, we are also one of just 103 Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scout Groups in the country.
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Roger Rowe (Bosun) passed away on 18th July 2020 aged 79. Bosun was our Group President, he joined the group aged 7 and went on to become Scout Leader and Group Scout Leader. He loved living life to the full and was the lifeblood of the Cambria family. This one man has influenced so many people through the lifetime commitment he made to others.
The funeral was held on 13th August however due to COVID-19 restrictions numbers were limited.
A full celebration of his life will be held on Saturday 21st May 2022. All are welcome to attend this event but please let Roger Harris or Steve Newton know if you are coming. The event will start at 4.30pm with a formal parade from Ingress Abbey to the Greenhithe Jetty and a brief speech. This will be followed by a ceremonial scattering of ashes out on the Cambria Island which all will be able to watch from shore. The young people currently in the group will be dismissed at approximately 6pm and for those who wish there will be an evening reception in the Pier Hotel.
We run one or two trianing courses each year as a fundraiser so anyone intersted in gaining the RYA PB2 qualification, learning to drive our powerboats and having a great fun weekend on the water please contact us for dates and prices. We need 6-12 people for the courses to go ahead so if you have a group then let us know and we can run a course specifically for you.
Cambria Sea Scouts have Beaver, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer sections and we meet in the Greenhithe and Temple Hill areas of Dartford in Kent. We provide adventurous activities for boys and girls from age 6 to 18 and we try to give all our members plenty of chances to get onto the water. We have just become a RYA Training Centre for Power Boating and offer our Scouts and Explorers power boating qualifications as well as experience and skills.
Have a look at the section pages to see what our members get up to. All the pictures on the website are updated regularly.
Our activities include:Camping * Sailing * Making Friends * Climbing * Kayaking * Zorbing * RYA Qualifications * Hiking * Adventure * Cooking * Prussiking * Archery * Playing Games * Expeditions * Craft * Rafting * Having Fun
For membership enquiries please contact Steve on 07966 274393 or CambriaSeaScouts@gmail.com.

Coronavirus

We have just received an update from the scout association about Coronavirus. In light of the current situation we have no choice but to suspend all scouting activities until further notice. All meetings and activities are suspended and it’s highly likely that the group camp will be cancelled as well. We will continue to keep everyone updated as we can.
